Intercultural Workplace Ambassadors

Become a

Workplace Intercultural Ambassador

Introduction

Movements thrive when people carry the vision as their own. An Ambassador Programme provides a structured way to multiply voices, extend influence, and sustain engagement. Think of it as planting seeds in different soils so the vision grows everywhere. Ambassadors act as bridge-builders, representing the mission in their circles, while deepening their sense of belonging and ownership.

Becoming an Intercultural Workplace Ambassador

Why Become a Workplace Ambassador?

A proposal your organisation can adopt and own

Why this matters (workplace first, ICCT second)

Your organisation already values people and community. A Workplace Ambassador helps embed cultural inclusion, connect with the city’s renewal, and show practical leadership across cultures. ICCT is not the hero; your organisation is. ICCT simply equips, learn from you and connects you with wider partners.

Benefits to Our Workplace

Professional Development

         •       Access to cultural intelligence (CQ) training, resources, and leadership development.

         •       Opportunities to grow skills in cross-cultural communication, teamwork, and innovation.

Enhanced Reputation

         •       Public recognition as a workplace committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

         •       Opportunities to showcase our organisation’s contribution at regional and national gatherings.

Stronger Staff Engagement

         •       A platform for colleagues from diverse backgrounds to feel valued and included.

         •       Encourages staff to bring their whole selves to work, enriching creativity and collaboration.

Community Impact

         •       Connection with a citywide movement working for justice, peace, and renewal.

         •       Builds bridges between our workplace and the communities where we operate.

What the Ambassador does

  • Support HR/EDI goals with practical intercultural tools and ideas.

  • Host light-touch staff learning moments (lunchtime conversations, resource shares).

  • Build bridges between workplace and community partners.

  • Time commitment (typical): ~2–3 hours/month; plus the ICCT Gathering (optional but recommended).

Training & support you’ll receive

  • Orientation, Intercultural Self-Assessment

  • Online Unity in Diversity course.

  • Peer learning with other workplace ambassadors; access to CQ resources & case studies.

Recognition: the ICCT Intercultural Workplace Mark

With simple agreed practices (clear welcome, inclusive comms, learning plan), your organisation can display the ICCT recognition mark on its website and recruitment pages.

  2. Self-Assessment (workplace lens).

  3. Online Unity in Diversity course.
