Osai Ojigho is a human rights expert, lawyer, and gender equality advocate with over 18 years of experience in international development with civil society organisations, grassroots movements, feminist networks, youth groups, governments, donors, and inter-governmental agencies. She is the Director of Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns at Christian Aid, leading Christian Aid’s advocacy and public campaigning and its research, policy, and learning in the UK and internationally.
Osai has worked with various organisations, including Amnesty International, Oxfam, the African Union Mission in Mali and the Sahel. She sits on the board of Alliances for Africa, the British and Irish Churches Trust, Baobab for Women Human Rights and the National Union of Students (NUS-UK). She has successfully led initiatives on good governance, youth mobilisation, gender equality, policy and legislative change, law reform, and human rights protection.
She is well-travelled and widely published. She received the University of Wolverhampton Alumni Global Impact Award in 2023. She was named one of Nigeria’s 100 Most Influential Civil Society Leaders in 2021. She was featured in the film Voices Uprising, which encapsulates her role in demanding justice for the voiceless. She was named one of 25 women in law who inspire in 2025 by the Institute for African Women in Law.
