Pete leads Christian Aid’s community and church-based engagement and fundraising - including the iconic Christian Aid Week - inspiring, equipping and encouraging churches across England, Scotland and Wales to give, act and pray to tackle global poverty and injustice. He has significant experience of NGO campaigning in the UK, chairing the Sheila McKechnie Foundation and as a trustee of The Climate Coalition – and previously led campaigns at the consumer association, Which?; at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations; and at BT. He is passionate about the power that people have to shape and lead campaigns for social change. He has been a member of an intercultural Anglican church in Gipsy Hill for the past 20 years, involved in leading, preaching, worship, youth and children’s ministries.
